Dr. Willem Lammers

Professional life

I am a Swiss-Dutch psychologist, practicing psychotherapist, coach, and certified trainer in transactional analysis (TSTA). My journey began with a degree in psychology from the University of Nijmegen, followed by a brief academic position at the Faculty of Medicine, Free University of Amsterdam. I then moved to Switzerland in 1979, working at the Dutch Asthma Center in Davos, where I stayed until 1993, gaining experience in both patient care and management.

In 1987, I founded the Institute for Applied Social Sciences in Bad Ragaz, focusing on professional development for coaching, counselling, and organizational development. I ran the institute full-time until 2012, training specialists in these fields. During this time, I also pursued further education and, in 2010, earned my Doctorate in Psychotherapy by Professional Studies from Middlesex University, London, with a thesis on the development and history of Logosynthesis®.

My expertise lies in exploring the connection between body, mind, and soul. Over the years, I have trained in Bioenergetics, Transactional Analysis, Hypnotherapy, Gestalt Therapy, NLP, and Energy Psychology. These experiences led me to create Logosynthesis®, a holistic model for guided change that integrates psychoanalysis, humanistic psychology, transactional analysis, and energy psychology.

In 2007, I founded the Institute for Logosynthesis in Bad Ragaz, which I led until 2017. I also co-founded the Logosynthesis International Association (LIA) in 2014 and continue to serve as its honorary president. In recognition of my contributions to energy psychology, I was honored to receive the ACEP Award at the 20th Congress of the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology in Orlando in 2018.

I have published 13 books, some of which have been translated into multiple languages. While my early publications focused on coaching and consulting, since 2007, my writing has centred on Logosynthesis, sharing this powerful model with professionals and individuals alike.

Personal life

I was born in the Netherlands in 1950, I moved to Switzerland in 1977, where I live with Luzia, my wife of over 30 years. I am an active septuagenarian and enjoy walking in the mountains, landscape photography – some of which you see on this website – and spending time with our two young grandchildren.

My latest personal project has been revamping my personal library, a source of inspiration for my continued research and writing.

Despite claiming retirement, I still run my practice in Bad Ragaz, offer workshops, and teaching Logosynthesis in person and online. I also enjoy mindful travel, offering lectures and workshops around the world.

I enjoy good food:

Throughout my career, I have combined my passion for psychology, energy work, and human development with a deep commitment to helping others unlock their potential. From my early work in clinical practice to founding the Institute for Applied Social Sciences and creating Logosynthesis®, I’ve been inspired by the connection between body, mind, and spirit. Although my professional work has slowed down, it continues with teaching, writing, and running my practice. My personal life grounds me—whether I’m walking in the mountains, on vacation with my family, or photographing landscapes.

These elements of my life reflect my dedication to both personal growth and to guiding others in discovering their own path.
